Boortmeerbeek, Belgium – Dockmate, manufacturer of advanced wireless remote controls for yachts, announced today their compatibility with components of AVENTICS™ Marex OS propulsion control from Emerson, formerly known also as Rexroth Marex OS

After extensive testing to ensure that their controllers would meet or exceed Emerson’s quality and safety standards, Dockmate’s wireless remote control system is now recognized by Marex OS systems as a wireless station. This seamless integration allows operators with Marex OS controls access to full engine control wirelessly from the Dockmate remote control while stepping away from the helm for greater visibility. Whether installed by boat builders or as part of a retrofit, Dockmate will not void engine or controller warranties for most popular engine or controller brands.

“Our engineers have worked closely with the Emerson team to make Dockmate accessible for captains and crew that are interested in the flexibility of a wireless remote system for low-speed maneuvering in tight quarters,” said Dirk Illegems, president, Dockmate. “Marex OS propulsion control systems are trusted by operators in some of the most demanding applications. It is a testament to the reliability and effectiveness of the Dockmate system and we are proud to announce this integration.”

“Dockmate has demonstrated their commitment to matching the reputation for quality that AVENTICS Marex OS has garnered in the industry,” said Steve Vincent, Manager Business Development Marine Americas at Emerson. “We’re pleased to provide additional functionality to our customer, and are confident that the robust capabilities of the Dockmate system will add value to our Marex OS propulsion control system.”

When using a Dockmate® remote, that was charged to 100%, it takes up to 3 hours of constant use (remote actively communicating with the Receiver) to deplete the battery. This translates to a few very difficult and/or long docking manoeuvres, or lasts at least 15 docking manoeuvres of approximately 10 minutes.

During our test charging a Dockmate® remote from empty to completely full takes up to 3 hours. In practice we’ve observed a typical charging time for a Dockmate® remote of 20 to 40 min. For boaters using our latest Dockmate® Cradle, their Dockmate® remote is virtually always charged up and ready for use.
